Confirmed: Three New Bands!

We are excited to announce that we have confirmed a few more bands to this years lineup! We've been able to lock down London's THUMPERS, a great new band recently signed to Sub Pop Records. Get ready for their debut album, February 11th!

In other news, Easter Island had to change their spring plans and are unable to make it to Savannah for Stopover but we've got a twofer replacement that we are beyond excited to bring ya'll!  Please welcome New Yorkers Black Taxi and Brothertiger to the fold. They're gonna make you dance.

Savannah Stopover Music Festival Confirms 17 Local Bands To Play Stopover IV

Three Local Record Labels to Host Showcases

Savannah Stopover Music Festival announced today that 17 local bands will join more than 80 touring bands during the three-day festival which will take place March 6th-8th, 2014.

The full lineup of touring acts will be unveiled on 1/14/14.

Confirmed local acts and tentative performance dates include:

Kylesa- 3/6 Triathalon- 3/6, 3/7 Bear Fight!- 3/7 mumbledust- 3/7, 3/8 The Accomplices- 3/7 City Hotel- 3/8 The Rosies- 3/8 Fare The Gap- 3/6 Whiskey Dick- 3/7 Sauna Heat- 3/7, 3/8 Missionary Blues- 3/8 Co-Eds- 3/8 Damon and the Shitkickers- 3/8 Crazy Bag Lady- 3/8 Ambrose- 3/8 J. Showcases:

The festival also confirmed three Record Label Showcases, all featuring Savannah-based Record Labels: Retro Futurist, Soft Science and Furious Hooves. Each showcase will feature 4-5 bands signed to those labels:

March 6th: Retro Futurist Records- (21+ Show) The new label founded by critically acclaimed and globally renowned Savannah metal band Kylesa will feature 4-5 bands at a special showcase Thursday night, 3/6 at The Jinx. Kylesa will headline. Other confirmed acts include Darkentries (Columbia, SC), Jagged Vision (Stavanger, Norway), Sierra (Kitchener, Ontario).

March 7th: Soft Science Records -ALL AGES Show. The new label founded by Safe//Sound concert promotions founder Gus Mueller and Skip Terpstra will host a showcase on the patio at Congress Street Social Club on Friday from 4pm-8pm. Confirmed acts include J. Zaggers (Savannah, Ga), Sauna Heat (Savannah, Ga), Cretin Girls(Gainseville, FL) and Triathalon (Savannah, Ga).

March 8th: Furious Hooves- ALL AGES Show. The label founded in 2011 by local artist and musician Ryan McCardle and Virginian TJ Hatcher will present their showcase on Saturday afternoon on the patio at congress Street Social Club from 2pm-7pm. Confirmed acts include Anteo (Blacksburg, VA), Bedroom(nashville, TN), Hallucinex (Richmond, VA), Blackrune (Savananh, Ga), mumbledust (Savannah, Ga).

Call For Entries: 2014 Savannah Stopover Music Festival Juried Band Poster Exhibition

Savannah Stopover Music Festival Announces the Fourth Annual Band Poster Exhibition Sponsored in Part by Blick Art Materials

Want to be where Music and Art collide? Savannah Stopover will host the 4th Annual Juried Band Poster Exhibition sponsored in part by Blick Art Materials.  Finalists will be displayed and awards presented at the Opening Night Concert event at Moon River Brewing Company Beer Garden on Thursday, March 6, 2014.

Savannah Stopover invites all artists to create a poster inspired by their favorite band from the 2014 Festival lineup. Check out the Festival playlist on our website. Get inspired by the Music, head to Blick for your materials, and create your poster!!  Submissions are due online no later than Friday, February 21, 2014.  For a full list of design requirements and submission guidelines, click HERE.

Be part of this unique Festival experience, and join hundreds of previous entrants from over the years in showing their love of art and music.  The public may vote for their favorite poster online at SavannahStopover.com beginning February 26, or in person at Blick Art Materials on East Broughton Street beginning March 1.  All public voting ends on March 5.

There are four chances to win, with award packages for Director's Choice, First Place, Second Place and Third Place.  Prizes are donated by Savannah Stopover Music Festival, Blick Art Materials, Creative Approach, Foxy Loxy, and Atwell's Art & Frame.

Bands by Day...so far

Hope everyone is excited as we are with the first wave of bands we announced back in November. Be sure to be on the look out mid-January for our entire lineup announcement (we definitely have some surprises for y'all)! For those of you wondering who will be playing which day we wanted to give you a tentative day schedule for the 37 bands announced so far. This is subject to change, so please don't hold us to it (there are larger forces at play sometimes).

Remember, in addition to our 3-Day Festival Pass we also have a Weekend Pass (for Friday & Saturday only) and Single Day Passes available for maximum flexibiity!

Savannah Stopover Music Festival 2014 (March 6th-8th) will be here faster than you know it! We are giving our fans a chance to grab a 3-Day Festival pass at a special price of only $60 starting Friday morning, November 8th at 11am. Band Poster Competition Winners

We want to thank everyone who submitted a poster this year, we were amazed at the quality of this years entrants. Some difficult choices had to be made but with the help of the public and our jury we came to a final decision..
