Savannah Stopover's 5th Anniversary!

We're pleased to announce the 5th anniversary of the Savannah Stopover Music Festival will take place across Savannah’s downtown historic district March 5th-7th, 2015. More than 80 bands from around the world are expected to perform across multiple venues, including more than a dozen from Savannah.

• 11/11/14 - First Wave of Bands Announced. Early Bird tickets on sale at 10:00am

• 11/21/14 - “V” Kick Off Event At Southbound Brewing. Purchase tickets to this event here. Regular Priced 3-day, Single Day and VIP Tickets go on sale.

• 1/5/15 - Deadline for Local Band submissions

Hurray for the Riff Raff & Those Darlins Back in Savannah!

We're excited to announce two amazing shows coming up this October, both Stopover '14 alums: Hurray for the Riff Raff and Those Darlins. While we're getting everything ready for Revival Fest (our other music festival on Sept. 20th) we're already kicking things into high gear for a music-filled fall in Savannah! (hint: stay tuned for more!)

We just caught another killer performance from Those Darlins at Macon's Bragg Jam Music Festival on July 26th. No sooner had we returned to SAV when an email arrived saying the band very much wanted to come play Savannah in October. Yay!

Miami garage-rock trio, Jacuzzi Boys, were formed back in 2007 and later picked up by Hardly Art in 2011. Ever since their first release (but second full length) with Hardly Art, Glazin’, they have been relentlessly storming the indie-rock scene being featured in Rolling Stone, Pitchfork, Noisey, MTV Hive and many more.

In a place where latin, rap and hip hop music prevail, Jacuzzi Boys rise against the grain of their hometown to bring us some amazing garage-pop-rock. Their sound blends the typical chord progressions of power pop with their snarly punk attitude while never deviating from what’s in their soul, good ol’ rock n’ roll. Iggy Pop, in an interview with Urban Outfitters, has even put his stamp of approval on this band claiming they’re currently the best thing coming out of Miami.

They’re live shows are full of crackling energy and as their own drummer put it, their shows are “a rock n’ roll piñata – colorful and playful on the surface that needs to be confronted aggressively to spew candy everywhere.”

2014 Savannah Stopover Session Videos Are Out!

During the 2014 Savannah Stopover Music Festival, Off The Avenue and Dollhouse Studios teamed up to bring you some awesome live recordings of many of your favorite Stopover bands. Throughout the weekend (March 6th to 8th)  over 15 bands spent time in Savannah's local state of the art recording studio, Dollhouse, to record 1-2 songs of their choosing. Paired up with the video acumen and considerable talents from the boys at Off The Avenue (North Avenue Studios) from Florida and we get some amazing videos. Savannah Stopover and MusicFile Productions announced today that three legendary bands will play Savannah this spring:

1. Friday, April 11th, 2014:  Horse Feathers (w/ mumbledust) @Ampersand

The Portland, OR-based group, led by singer-songwriter Justin Ringle and longtime collaborator, violinist Nathan Crockett, will  mark their 10-year anniversary with an all-acoustic tour across the eastern U.S. throughout April. As an added bonus for fans, the group is accepting setlist requests via their Facebook page.

2. Wednesday, May 7th, 2014: Charles Bradley & His  Extraordinaires @ The Jinx (early show)

Charles Bradley released his debut album at the age of 62 on Daptone Records and quickly rose to world-wide fame. He will bring his legendary style of American Funk, Soul & R&B to The Jinx for one night only in a rare, small club performance.

Cusses and DJ D-Frost will be spinning soul after the show til close.

3. Monday, May 12th, 2014:  Blitzen Trapper (w/ The Train Wrecks) @ The Jinx (early show)

Blitzen Trapper is a Portland, Oregon-based experimental country/folk band on  Sub Pop Records. The band has released seven albums since 2000, garnering critical acclaim. Furr, the band's 2008 breakout album, and it's first on Sub Pop Records remains one of the best albums of the last decade.

Stopover is finally here, and here's some info you'll need this weekend about:

Door Tickets

First off, door tickets will be available at all venues, space permitting, pricing as follows:

Opening Night Event: $15

Other Knights of Columbus Shows: Day Show (on Saturday): $10 Night Shows: $20

Day Shows at The Jinx and Hangfire: $5

Secret Shows at Ampersand and Abe's on Lincoln: $10

All other Venues not specified: $15

Please remember capacity is limited at all venues, and passholders will be given preferred entrance. We can't guarantee door tickets for every show.

Ampersand, located at 36 MLK

Next, some people have been asking about the new venue Ampersand located at 36 MLK. Bill Dawers wrote a great piece about it, and we're excited to debut the space during Stopover. Here's how it's going to work:

1st Floor:

Is open to all Stopover Passholders. Anyone with a wristband will be invited in during their business hours. Opening at 4pm 3/6 and 3/7.Noon on 3/8. The 1st floor is also open to the public during showtimes.Shows will be on the 1st floor. If you don't have a Stopover wristband, you can buy a ticket at the door, space permitting. Tickets will be $10

2nd Floor

Is the private MailChimp Artist Lounge at Savannah Stopover,  open only to Artists, VIPS, Press, Staff and Volunteers. No bands will play there.

3rd Floor

is only open Founders' Circle members, and staff and bands by invitation. It will also hold the Seersucker Live Event on Friday, 3/7 from 7pm-9pm. Stopover Passholders can get discounted admission to that event.

Secret Shows

Finally, here's a little more information about secret shows. The events at Abe's on Lincoln and Ampersand are open to all Stopover Passholders, and door tickets will be available - space permitting. As the shows approach, our friends at Do Savannah will announce secret show artists via their Mobile app -  we'll also let you know via the Stopover Twitter account!

Opening Night Concert Moved to Knights of Columbus

St. Paul & The Broken Bones Concert Venue Change

Mother nature has some rain planned for Savannah tomorrow evening so to be safe, we are moving the Opening Night Concert and Band Poster Exhibition from the outdoor garden at Moon River to Knights of Columbus Hall at 3 West Liberty (next to Mellow Mushroom).

Event Time: 6pm-9pm (ALL AGES)

6pm- Cocktails and Band Poster Event

7pm-Good Graeff

8pm- St. Paul &  The Broken Bones

At 9pm, we will clear the room to quickly set up for the bands playing Thursday's evening showcase featuring Incan Abraham, Bear Hands and Wye Oak. We will reopen the doors at 9:30pm and resume the schedule as follows.

PLEASE NOTE: THESE WILL BE TICKETED AS TWO SEPARATE EVENTS FOR PEOPLE WANTING TO BUY DOOR TICKETS TO ONE OR BOTH EVENTS.

Day Pass: $30. Good for all shows and venues on 3/6

Door ticket Opening Night Event: $15
