The New Year has started off with a bang with new music from The National, Boy Genius, King Tuff, Tennis, The Arcs ( Dan Auerbach’s project) plus a slew of great tracks and albums from rising stars like Billy Nomates, Royel Otis, Bombshell, Grapetooth, Wednesday and more.
The Strokes are back dominating the music press with their 10-disc boxed set vinyl release The Singles-Vol 1 including b-sides and rarities from their 1st three albums. The excellent “The Modern Age-Rough Trade Version” dropped as a teaser on January 13th. The whole set is available Feb 24th.
Newer bands that continue to catch our ear include Jive Talk, Black Belt Eagle Scout, Two Blinks, I love You, Steady Holiday and Gretel Hanlyn.
Stopover festival alumni are in fine form with new albums from July Talk and new singles from The Nude Party, Caroline Rose and Ron Gallo; whose new album drops March 3rd.
Lastly, do not miss the lead single “Dog Park” from Savannah’s own Ann Kellam released Friday, 1/27. We couldn’t be more proud of our hometown talent and this track deserves all of the accolades it’s about to receive!
